After receiving his MS in Accounting, Steve taught undergraduate accounting at the School of Management at Binghamton University (NY) for 3 years. From there, he obtained experience in business, not-for-profit, and government auditing as well as personal income taxation with Ernst & Whinney (remember them?) in upstate New York where he became certified. Sensing that a smaller, more personal form of client assistance was desirable, Steve moved to Boston and joined Russell, Brier & Co. in 1982. Since that time, Steve has focused his efforts in personal and fiduciary income tax matters and concentrated in estate tax planning and compliance as well as the many valuation issues that arise in the area. Steve has also been appointed trustee and executor for many of our clients. He became a partner of the firm in 1987.
